Hospice, A Concept of Care
Hospice is an interdisciplinary program of care designed to provide unique
health care services to a patient experiencing the last phases of life due to the
existence of a terminal illness

the emotion, physical, and spiritual needs of the patient and the
patient's family as the unit of care. It strives to enhance the quality
of life through aggressive management of pain and suffering,

privacy and dignity.  

It depicts the holistic continuum of care rendered by
multidisciplinary professional and trained volunteers working
together as a team to assess and meet the patient's and family's
unique needs as the end of life draws near.
